La question de la réception

How can saints who come together in the name of the Lord, on the ground of the unity of the body, receive a believer walking honestly before the Lord, even if he is not formally and regularly among them? The author addresses the character of the one who approaches, the responsibility of those who receive, and the scriptural attitude to maintain in the time of the ruin of Christianity.

Réceptions à la table du Seigneur

The Word shows that the church (or assembly) is composed of all true children of God, born again and having received the Holy Spirit. There is only one body, the assembly, the body of Christ, as also one Spirit, one table, one bread. No nominal denomination or church is found in the Word. How then should every serious Christian be received at the table of the Lord, to the glory of Christ? Through various letters, J. N. Darby shows that in the midst of a confused and ruined Christendom, the godly attitude is to have a humble and broad heart in a narrow path, in separation from moral and doctrinal evil, and those associated with it.

Résumé de "Garder l'unité de l'Esprit"

Summary of a response by G. Vogel to the work Sectarianism by W. J. Ouweneel. G. V. recalls the essential truths of the Church (or Assembly of God): the unity of the assembly, the individual and collective separation from evil, admission to the breaking of bread... Other points raised in Sectarianism are also addressed: the division from the 'large' and 'free' brothers, the so-called "Theology of the Brothers". The philosophy adopted by W.J.O. is clearly refuted, as well as “sectarianism” and “centralism”.

Sainteté, unité, communion

Napoléon Noel (1853-1932) is best known for a voluminous work The History of the Brothers (from approximately 1828 to 1930) where he shows how, with great difficulty, they sought to keep great and precious truths, transmitted in their simplicity by the apostle Paul, long forgotten in the history of the church, brought to light at the time of the Awakening. In the present article he makes a sort of commentary on this story. The enemy's attacks, the difficulties, the weaknesses, the shortcomings, are all considered, with the reflection and perspective that he could have had. His conclusions seem to us to be of great interest for the reader's meditation, hoping that he will benefit greatly from them.

Une question qui se pose

How can we serve together for Christ? The answer to this question lies in understanding the truth that there is only one church. There is absolutely no nominal denomination or church in the Word of God. On this sure basis, and with clarity, J. Thomas shows how Christians should come together and receive one another according to the Word, to the glory of Christ. Saints wishing to walk according to it in the midst of the sad confusion of Christendom have no choice: they must come together in the name of the Lord alone, and walk in unity, in separation from moral and doctrinal evil, and those associated with it. The Christian is responsible for recognizing these divine teachings and serving consistently under the gaze of God.
