Marriage is the most intimate of natural bonds. It is a lifelong commitment. A Father full of grace is an invaluable help in this commitment. But to receive this help, a Christian must be mindful of the motives behind his actions and guard himself against evil. If they remain dependent on Him and honor God’s Word while seeking the Father’s guidance, He will grant them, in His time and in His way, the desire of their heart (Ps. 21:2; 37:4).

The great subject of creation is addressed in a work by W. Kelly in English The Early Chapters of Genesis (1-11). It is treated with an abundance of detail unusual among commentators, while closely following the Word of God. This remarkable commentary addresses the story of creation from all its angles: the original creation, desolation, the appearance of light, the separation of air, land and sea, the creation of plant life, the appearance of luminaries, the special creation of animal life, and the special creation of man with his privileged position. This booklet brings together and reclassifies scattered notes taken on this commentary on creation (chap. 1). The particular aspects of this subject linked to science and geology, as well as to the antiquity of the earth, will be the subject of a later booklet.

How much confidence can we place in creationist interpretations? These are the questions that this booklet attempts to answer. This article presents in detail the fundamental subject of the new birth. The reader will find there extremely useful explanations to be saved from the wrath that is coming and to be delivered from the old nature, inherited from Adam, and to find a stable and solid peace with God, his Father, both in his heart and in his conscience.

Le baptême (FGP)
In the 1st article, FGP shows that the baptized, supposedly truly having faith, is invited to take part spiritually in the death of Christ and to live in a completely new way (Rom. 6:11, 4). Baptism is in relation to the Christian profession on earth, that is, the House of God, and not to the Body of Christ and its Head (His Head) in heaven (1 Cor. 10:1-13). It is not the testimony of the baptized but the testimony of the baptism to the baptized. In the 2nd article, JND shows why children can be baptized. The Christian profession includes children (1 Cor. 10:1-13), who are thus seen in the Christian home as relatively "holy" (1 Cor. 7:14).

Yet the truth of the unity of the Church, the body of Christ, and the gathering of the saints remains. Many believers have benefited immensely from these few basic items. Their attentive reading, Word of God in hand, will speak to the conscience and the heart of those who wish to follow the Lord. It will present them with two alternatives: go to the church “of their choice” or follow divine teaching regarding the gathering of the saints. This first booklet presents the three pillars of the gathering: separation from evil, unity, love.

Very early in the history of Christianity, the coming of the Lord in grace on the clouds to remove the saints from the current period of grace (John 14; 1 Thess. 4; 2 Thess. 1) was forgotten. This truth, brought to light at the time of the Awakening, was immediately fought by certain believers in the official churches. It is very instructive to see in what way the author, full of heart for his Lord and for souls, defended this truth with humility, gentleness, firmness and submission to the whole Word, contrasting the coming of the Lord and the day of the Lord in judgment on the earth to establish his millennial reign. We will also note several interesting remarks and examples on how to correctly interpret the Scriptures.

“Christ, a living Person, is so present before the heart that the saints are freed from themselves and every eye and heart is filled with Him. » This is the edifying way in which this subject is presented. Centered on Christ, the living person, Leader of the assembly, the reader will find much refreshment in reading it. As in most of his articles, the author insists on the obligation to maintain the doctrine, but also the practice of the scriptural truth of the one body of Christ. Divine principles and their practice do not vary with the changing conditions of the great house of Christendom. This work, which has benefited several generations of believers who have applied their practical walk to this divine teaching, is still as valid today.

It is from heaven where he was exalted, after having known the pain and shame of the cross, that the Lord grants gifts to men. The pretensions of religious men are not lacking in Christianity, but the gifts and ministries have as their sole source the Lord in glory. The current claim to any official ecclesiastical appointment, with or without the laying on of hands, is without basis in the Word of God.
Traités choisis
This volume brings together articles which all present fundamental doctrinal and practical teachings from the Word of God, concerning the Christian and the church or assembly. They develop subjects often little discussed or poorly understood in Christianity: death with Christ, freedom from sin, walking in newness of life, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the assembly body of Christ, the unity of the Spirit, the path of the Christian in the midst of the ruin of the church. F. G. Patterson exercised a discreet but highly appreciated ministry from approximately 1864 to 1884. His simple, clear and concise oral and written teaching was a means of encouragement and edification for many brothers in the faith. It answers many questions and needs of young people. We strongly encourage the dear young brothers to carefully read these articles which will strengthen their soul in its battles and establish their spirit in the truth.
