Christian water baptism corresponds to the Red Sea (figure of the earth and the world), but never to the Jordan (figure of the sky). Baptism relates to the Christian profession on earth, that is, the House of God, not to the Body of Christ and its Head (or Head) in heaven (1 Cor. 10:1-13). The baptized person, believed to have true faith, is invited to share spiritually in the death of Christ and to live in a completely new way (Rom. 6:11, 4). He is responsible to be true in his profession of Christ. It is not the testimony of the baptized, but the testimony of baptism, to the baptized.
