God speaks frankly to us about his holiness which cannot overlook sin, but he also shows us his grace without condition or reservation for those who come by faith under the shelter of the atoning work of Jesus on the cross. What a challenge for the soul, whose outcome and eternal consequence is determined during its stay on earth! Many passages in the Bible, the Word of God, present this truth so clearly that they leave no credibility to those who would deny them.
“He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but whoever disobeys the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him” (John 3:36); “And the devil... was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where both the beast and the false prophet are; and they will be tormented... forever and ever. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth fled away and the heaven... And I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before the throne... And the dead were judged according to the things which were written in the books, according to their works... And death and hades were cast into the lake of fire: this is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire” (Rev. 20:10-15).
