The Red Sea is a type of the death of Christ for us and the introduction into responsible Christian profession here in this world. The Jordan is a type of our death with Christ and our introduction in Christ into the heavenly places. Baptism is in connection with the Red Sea, but never with the Jordan; with the professing Church, but never with the Body of Christ. This article is probably the only one that J. N. Darby has written on this subject.
