The great subject of creation is addressed in a work by W. Kelly in English The Early Chapters of Genesis (1-11). It is treated with an abundance of detail unusual among commentators, while closely following the Word of God. This remarkable commentary addresses the creation story from all angles: the original creation, the desolation, the appearance of light, the separation of air, land and sea, the creation of plant life, the appearance of the luminaries, the special creation of animal life, and the special creation of man with his privileged position.
This booklet brings together and reclassifies scattered notes taken on this commentary on creation (chap. 1). The particular aspects of this subject linked to science and geology, as well as to the antiquity of the earth, will be the subject of a later booklet.
