The simple teaching of the unity of the Church according to Scripture, communicated by the apostle Paul, was unfortunately quickly diverted or denied in Christianity. The numberless denominations of a dismembered church are an obvious mark of this. So, in the midst of this heartbreaking confusion, what is the believer to do?
Yet the truth of the unity of the church, the body of Christ, and the gathering of the saints remains. Many believers have benefited immensely from these few basic items. Their attentive reading, Word of God in hand, will speak to the conscience and the heart of those who wish to follow the Lord. It will present them with two alternatives: go to the church “of their choice” or follow divine teaching regarding the gathering of the saints.
