The Word shows that the church (or assembly) is composed of all true children of God, born again and having received the Holy Spirit. There is only one body, the assembly, the body of Christ, as also one Spirit, one table, one bread. No nominal denomination or church is found in the Word. How then is every earnest Christian to be received at the Lord’s table, to the glory of Christ?
Through various letters, J. N. Darby shows that in the midst of a Christendom in confusion and ruin, the godly attitude is to have a humble and broad heart in a narrow path, in separation from moral and doctrinal evil, and those associated with it.
