Where does the present confusion come from? Should we be satisfied with this by agreeing to go with the flow, or should we stand firm by going upstream? Is it still necessary to withdraw today, when evil can no longer be removed in a gathering? Reading this extract reminds us that evil is incompatible with the presence of the Lord in the assembly and that, if an assembly refuses to judge evil, the faithful must withdraw from it. Individual fidelity to the Lord is the basis of a faithful collective walk, and not the other way around. Personal purity and holiness (separation) go hand in hand. The position of separation is not something acquired once and for all, neither for an individual, nor for a gathering; you must constantly be vigilant.
