W. R. Dronsfield presents in a synthetic manner the history of those called "Brothers" from 1820 to 1953, with their sad divisions and their re-unions (or reunifications). A short update takes this story up to 1974. The author summarizes a number of interesting facts during this complex story. The facts are seen from the ternary angle of independence, centralism and the claim to infallibility. The heterodoxies (sometimes called "heresies"), or fundamental false doctrines of F. E. Raven, F. W. Grant, and C. E. Stuart are addressed succinctly.
