Through Saul, then the apostle Paul, God's chosen vessel, the author shows how the work of God, the divine Potter, consists of preparing the Christian for heaven by forming him morally in the image of Christ (2 Cor. 3:18). His faithful, wise and attentive care patiently and gracefully carries out deep soul work in his life. The believer is gradually freed from what comes from human nature, the flesh, to learn to walk in freedom according to the new man. This divine training also prepares for useful service for the Master, where the place is given to Christ, not to man, and where the power comes from the Spirit, not from the flesh.
This little book, among the rare ones he wrote, was published by the author alongside numerous articles appearing in the periodical magazine Words of Truth (1867-1876), all of which were greatly appreciated.
