This volume is the translation of the first 4 chapters of a work by W. Kelly in English The Early Chapters of Genesis (1-11). The first major subjects of Genesis (creation, the desolation of the earth, the formation of the Adamic earth, the creation of man, the garden of Eden, temptation and the fall, Cain and his descendants) are exposed with an abundance of detail uncommon among commentators, while closely following the Word of God. Notes of these meetings held by W. Kelly between 1871 and 1874 appeared in the English journal Bible Treasury, vol. 18 to N2, between 1891 and 1898.
